Flame retardant investigations on carbon fibre?reinforced polyurethane resin parts for aircraft applications produced by wet compression moulding

چکیده
Epoxy resins are widely used in composite materials for aircraft applications. However, they difficult to recycle, thus posing an increasing challenge the aviation sector. By contrast, polyurethane (PUR) can be easily chemically recycled by solvolysis, but structural parts made of carbon fibre-reinforced polyurethanes (CF-PURs) currently not use This is due a lack knowledge about properties CF-PURs, especially during exposure higher temperatures and fire. To increase recyclability parts, example interior structures like seats, there need CF-PUR components which able fulfil flame retardant regulations as well quality production cycle time requirements industry. It was found that formulation processed wet compression moulding containing 9 wt% phosphorous polyol these

Hypophosphite/Graphitic Carbon Nitride Hybrids: Preparation and Flame-Retardant Application in Thermoplastic Polyurethane
A series of aluminum hypophosphite (AHPi)/graphite-like carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) (designated as CAHPi) hybrids were prepared, followed by incorporation into thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The introduction of CAHPi hybrids into TPU led to a marked reduction in the peak of the heat release rate (pHRR), total heat release, weight loss rate, smoke production rate and total smoke production (TSP)....
متن کاملFlame Retardant Luffa Fiber Reinforced Composites with Epoxy Resin Matrices
In current years composites have concerned considerable importance as a potential operational material. Low cost, light weights, high specific modulus, renewability, and biodegradability are the most basic & common attractive features of composites that make them useful for industrial applications. Luffacylindrical locally called as “sponge-gourd” is one such natural resource whose potential as...
متن کاملFlame-Retardant Mechanism of Silica: Effects of Resin Molecular Weight
The effects of resin molecular weight on the flame-retardant mechanism of silica were studied with two different molecular weights of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), 122,000 and 996,000 g/mol, and two silicas, fused silica with a small surface area and silica gel with a large surface area. A total of six different samples were studied, with a mass fraction of 10% silica. The mass loss rate of...
متن کاملFlame-Retardant Polyamide 6/Carbon Nanotube Nanofibers: Processing and Characterization
Polyamide 6 (PA6) was melt-blended with an intumescent flame retardant (FR), multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs), and nanoclay particles to produce multi-component FR-PA6 nanocomposites. FR-PA6 nanofibers were processed from varied nanocomposite formulations via electrospinning. Electrospinnability, morphology, along with combustion and thermal properties of the nanofibers were investigated. Bo...
متن کاملSuper flame-retardant lightweight rime-like carbon-phenolic nanofoam
The desire for lightweight nanoporous materials with high-performance thermal insulation and efficient anti-ablation resistance for energy conservation and thermal protection/insulation has greatly motivated research and development recently. The main challenge to synthesize such lightweight materials is how to balance the relationship of low thermal conductivity and flame retardancy. Herein, w...
